![]() But a couple weeks ago I went in for reduced movements, they hooked me up to the machine, and baby started kicking loads and the machine showed normal movement. I do feel little kicks and ‘swooshes’ but honestly not many big kicks’. In terms of movements, my placenta is at the top (fundal?) and baby breech. Where abouts in the UK are you? I’m Gloucestershire. I did the same thing googling and worrying myself even though the midwife and consultant didn’t seem too worried! ![]() It’s really great to hear from someone in such a similar situation!! Your fluid levels look similar to mine. I view it as the longer I lay here and keep baby cooking hopefully it is less nicu time. So until then I’m hanging in the hospital on bed rest with a monitor on. Every few days they give me sonograms to check the levels. Especially since I don’t have a pocket of fluid larger than a 2. And baby looks great on the monitor.Īs of right now it looks as if I’m in the hospital indefinitely. They aren’t worried about babies kidneys. My placenta seems to be fine, they have been drawing my blood. With these fluid levels they don’t think baby will turn and won’t try turning it. They are keeping me admitted to labor and delivery and on a monitor to monitor baby as long as it’s under a 5. So I have been in the hospital since Monday. This past Monday I had a follow up with the high risk doctors and my fluid was around a 3. I was sent home to drink lots of water which I did and rest. I was discharged Christmas Eve with a stable 6.1. They gave me steroid shots for baby’s lungs. They had me follow up with a high risk maternal fetal doctor who admitted me to the hospital for 2 nights. My doctor had me follow up at 30+5 and it was around a 5.9. When they found it at 29+5 weeks it was around a 7.5. Yes I have been dealing with low fluid since a growth scan I had at 29 weeks. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It doesn’t matter as long as the baby is healthy but also trying to get my head round the fact I’ll likely need a C section when I was stupidly convinced I’d have a water birth. Consultant said amniotic fluid could increase, and after Googling I’m just drinking lots and resting. I just hope there’s nothing wrong with the baby. I’m pretty scared as she said they ideally want to get me to 37 weeks but after Googling it looks as though it could be before then. I was referred to a consultant at the hospital and she’s booked me in for a scan to check fluid levels in a week, then to check growth again in another week followed by consultant appointment. It revealed the baby was measuring small (still inside normal rates but growth has slowed) and that I have low amniotic fluid (80mm). At my appointment last week I was measuring about 3cm smaller than they expected. ![]() I had her by planned C-section at 39 weeks and she was beautiful and perfect.Happy New Year everyone. The only downside to it is that my baby never turned because of the lack of fluid, so she was breech. I think the machines and the technicians were just better at the second hospital. They sent me to a different hospital with better equipment, and my fluid had gone up to 8 cm. That's when they talked about the emergency C-Section. One morning, I went in and it was slightly above 5. And different technicians may measure them slightly different. There are sacs of fluids that are sometimes hidden and the technician can't see them. I do want to point out that U/S are not always an exact science. I almost ended up with an emergency C-section at 35 weeks. With my first, I had low amniotic fluid from week 32 onwards (that's when they noticed it at least, it may have started earlier).
